Terms of Use
Last updated 5 September 2026
Short, and in plain language, because terms you cannot read are terms you have not agreed to. The substance is that you hold the only keys and every consequence of that flows to you.
What you are agreeing to
These terms cover your use of the Aura mobile app and this website. By installing or using Aura you accept them. If you do not, do not use the software.
Aura is self-custody software. It generates and stores keys on your device and helps you sign transactions with them. That is the whole product. We are not a bank, a broker, an exchange, a custodian, a money transmitter or an investment adviser, and using Aura does not open an account with anyone.
Your keys, and what that means
Your recovery phrase and the private keys derived from it exist on your device, encrypted under a passcode we never receive. We hold no copy and no administrative key.
The consequences follow directly and are not negotiable:
- You are solely responsible for backing up your recovery phrase and keeping it secret.
- If you lose your phrase and your device, nobody can restore your wallet— not you, not us, not a court order.
- Anyone who obtains your phrase controls your assets completely, and we cannot detect, stop or undo that.
- We cannot freeze a wallet, reverse a transfer, recover funds sent to the wrong address, or claw back anything from a scam.
The security page sets out the mechanics behind each of these statements.
Transactions are final
When you approve a transaction, Aura signs it with your key and hands it to the relevant network. From that point the network decides what happens, and confirmation is permanent. Nothing in this software provides a cancellation, chargeback or dispute mechanism, because the underlying chains do not have one.
You are responsible for checking what you are signing: the destination address, the network, the amount, the token, and any spending approval you grant to a contract. An approval can allow continued spending after you close the app.
Networks, routers and other third parties
Aura connects you to systems it does not operate: blockchain networks, RPC providers, swap routers and bridges including Jupiter, LI.FI, Uniswap, 0x and Relay, price feeds, and the cloud storage you choose for a backup. When you use a route, you are using that provider's protocol on its terms and taking its risk.
We display quotes, routes and fees as reported to your device. We do not guarantee that a quote will execute at the price shown, that a bridge will complete, that a smart contract is free of defects, or that any token is what it claims to be. Anyone can create a token and name it whatever they like.
Your responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Comply with the laws that apply to you, including tax and sanctions obligations.
- Use Aura only with assets you are lawfully entitled to control.
- Keep your device secure and current, and not run Aura on a jailbroken or rooted device or alongside software you do not trust.
- Not use Aura to launder proceeds of crime, finance terrorism, evade sanctions, or facilitate fraud.
- Not attack the software or our services — no attempts to break into other people's wallets, disrupt availability, or test against balances that are not yours.
Because Aura is non-custodial, we have no ability to enforce these terms by touching your funds. Enforcement, where it exists, is limited to our own services and distribution.
Nothing here is financial advice
Balances, charts, prices, quotes, route comparisons and anything else Aura shows you are information, not recommendations. We do not advise on whether to buy, sell, hold or swap anything, and nothing in the app or on this site should be read as a suggestion that a particular asset is suitable for you.
Digital assets are volatile and can lose all of their value. You may lose everything you hold. Only you can judge whether that is acceptable, and you do so entirely at your own risk.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep our optional services — balance indexing, swap status tracking, push notifications — available, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation. The app is designed to keep working without them: it can read chains directly and sign transactions with no service of ours involved.
We may update the software, change or discontinue features, or amend these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. If we ceased operating entirely, your recovery phrase would still restore your wallet in any standards-compliant wallet, which is the point of using open derivation standards.
Disclaimers and limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aura is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software is free of defects or that it will meet your requirements.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost or inaccessible digital assets, lost profits, lost or forgotten recovery phrases or passcodes, unauthorised access to your device, failures of third-party networks, contracts, routers or bridges, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, in which case those parts apply to you only as far as the law allows and the rest remains in force.
General
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. Our not enforcing a provision immediately does not waive it. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the software.
Questions about these terms: legal@aura.finance. Support: support@aura.finance. We will never ask for your recovery phrase.
